Land Use, Transportation and Air Quality: Making Healthier Decisions
The BC and Yukon Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association, the BC Lung Association, the Fraser Basin Council and several other organizations are working together to bring you an exciting one-day workshop titled Land Use, Transportation and Air Quality: Making Healthier Decisions. Set for Tuesday, October 27th, 2009 at the Hilton Metrotown in Burnaby, this event will feature presentations from land use, transportation, air quality and health experts, as well as a workshop designed to encourage dialogue and network-building.
The following topics will be presented and discussed during this event:
- Understanding air quality and exposure at the community-level
- Best management practices for urban and rural land development
- Healthy transportation policies
- Strategies to overcome challenges associated with implementing healthy, air quality‐friendly actions
- Greenhouse gas co-benefits and how to avoid unintended consequences
