FCM´s Sustainable Communities Conference and Trade Show is the event in Canada for municipal leaders, decision makers and experts to exchange ideas and solutions towards creating a stronger and more sustainable community development.

Tourism’s Place in a Sustainable World – a live event that will be webcast across the country and around the world featuring thought leaders in tourism and sustainabilityi.

Through a series of field tours, presentations, displays, industry tradeshow and networking opportunities, participants will learn how biomass energy systems could provide First Nations and small rural communities with more accessible and cost effective energy alternatives to fossil fuels.

This course will examine new local government powers to deal with climate changei (Bills 10 and 27 of 2008), and equip planning practitioners to put them to use in their communities.

Join environmental business leaders, corporate executives, NGOs, and government policymakers from around the world in Vancouver to explore the mutually inclusive goals of: corporate sustainabilityi, climate changei, carbon management, clean energy, sustainable finance, and greener cities.

In addition to development-permit powers, what can local government do to meet ambitious greenhouse-gas reduction targets? This course will use a “climate change” lens to review a broad range of existing local-government bylaws.
